     What is Coaching?

    Coaching is a professional relationship that will help you produce extraordinary results in your life, career, or business helping you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.  A coach will partner with you to design the life you want and bring out your own brilliance and resources so that you can achieve excellence and live your purpose.  Coaching has been defined in many ways. The essence of coaching is unlocking a person’s potential.


    Why should I hire a life coach?

    Hire a coach if you are feeling unsatisfied despite all you’ve accomplished, or you hunger for more! If you’re tired of comparisons, being afraid of change, and not feeling good enough – because not only is it exhausting, it’s holding you back. If you’re ready to dig deep and are committed to taking actions towards change.

    A coach can open a door to potential you never knew was possible and it cements your commitment to self!  As a certified life coach I will work with you to get clear about what fulfillment would be for you.


    What is the difference between coaching and counseling/therapy?

    Professional coaches know the importance of identifying the characteristics and ethical considerations which differentiate coaching from consulting, therapy, mentoring, counseling, or even friendship and support group membership.

    While coaching and therapy share some similarities, psychotherapy often focuses on the impact the past has on the present, on healing psychological dysfunction, and on relieving emotional pain. The therapist is considered to be the expert, the one with answers about what is right for the client.

    Coaching focuses on the present and future, the client’s strengths, life purpose and goals, working with clients to create possibilities to enrich their life. Based on the belief that all individuals are whole, capable individuals, coaching assumes the client is expert, able to determine what is best for their lives and the coach works along with them to maximize their personal and professional potentials, to close the gaps to create extraordinary lives.

    How will I track my progress?

    Research shows that people who write down their goals experienced a 42% increase in goal achievement. Those who broke goals down into action steps, made a commitment to someone, and provided weekly progress reports increased goal achievement by 78% (Source: Summary of Recent Goals Research, by Gail Matthews, Ph.D., Dominican University, 2007).

    I recommend that you bring a notebook and pen to every coaching session. At certain points, I will prompt you to write down key insights or steps that you identify. I also require you to complete a brief set of questions both before and after each session. This serves as a written record as to what is accomplished from week to week and over time.

    How much does coaching cost, will my insurance pay for it?

    You cannot use your insurance benefits for coaching, although you may be able to use your HSA.  The cost is $100 per session.
